Recipes for Common Operations

This section contains brief outlines of how several common IRAS data reduction operations can be implemented using IRAS90. It does not give a ``blow-by-blow'' account of each application. In general, IRAS90 applications can be run without needing to know the details of the algorithm or the range of parameters available to modify the default behaviour. If the parameter prompts displayed on the screen as the application progresses do not make it clear to you what is required, then entering a single question mark (``?'') will display more information about the current parameter, and then repeat the parameter prompt. A double question mark (``??'') will leave the user in the IRAS90 help library so that other items of help can be read (the parameter prompt is repeated when the help library is finally exited).

Having said that, it is strongly recommended that users read the full application specifications in appendix [*]. These describe the full range of facilities provided by each application, and also describe what each application does to the data.
