This section contains some examples of the many ways in which sky
positions can be specified:
- Right Ascension values
- : 11 hours, 34 minutes and 56.2 seconds
could be specified as
- ``11 34 56.2''
- ``11h 34m 56.2s''
- ``11 34.9366''
- ``11.58228''
- ``113456.2''.
- Declination values
- : -45 degrees 12 arc-minutes could be
specified as
- ``-45 12 00''
- ``-45 12''
- ``-45d 12m''
- ``-45.2d''
- ``-451200''
- ``-0.78888r'' (this is a radians value).
Longitude and latitude values for sky coordinate systems other
than equatorial are specified like Declination values.
